We all love the good old upma as it is easy to make? Keep the fuss at bay and use bread and oats to make upma instead!
Contents
Ingredients: 6 multigrain bread slices, 40 g classic masala oats, 2 tbsp oil, 1/2 tsp of hing, 1 tsp jeera, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 2 medium onion, chopped, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 2 tsp lemon juice, 4 chopped green chillies, and 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
Steps:
1. Break the bread into small pieces
2. Heat the oil in a non-stick kadai, add hing, jeera, and mustard seeds. When the jeera seeds change colour and the mustard seeds begin to splutter, add the chopped onion & green chillies and sauté for few minutes until onion turns translucent.
3. Add turmeric powder, salt, bread pieces, and oats and mix well. Add Chilli Powder and toss to mix. Add a 1/4 cup of water to cook the oats.
4. Top with lemon juice and chopped fresh coriander.
5. Toss well and serve.
The energy meal is ready to be served.
