Oats and Vegetable Kebab

Oats and vegetable kebab is a yummy, healthy snack, which is a must try for your little one. It has the goodness of oats and the nutrients of yam and raw banana.

    Ingredients to make Oats and Vegetable Kebab:

    1 cup elephant yam (chopped and boiled), 1 cup Raw Banana , chopped and boiled, 1 cup carrots chopped, 1 onion chopped, 1 inch ginger chopped, 4 cloves garlic chopped, 1 tablespoon red chili powder, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon cumin powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, 1 tablespoon amchur, ½ cup instant oats for coating, 1/4 cup milk, salt and pepper to taste.

    Steps to make Oats and Vegetable Kebab:

    1. In a pressure cooker, cook the yam and raw banana with water, salt, and turmeric till it becomes mushy, boil it for about 6 whistles.

    2. Release the pressure naturally. Strain excess water and mash it completely and keep it aside.

    3. Heat oil in a kadai, add in the onions, garlic and ginger. Sauté till the onions become translucent. Then add in the carrot and keep frying till the carrot gets cooked.

    4. Then add in all the spice powder mix well and sauté till the raw smell of the chilli goes away.

    5. Add this into the smashed yam and raw banana mixture and mix well, check for seasoning if required.

    6. Shape them into medium sized balls and flatten them into cutlets. Place the oats on a plate. Dip them in the milk and coat it well with oats.

    Heat a flat pan, drizzle some oil and toast them on medium heat till it becomes golden brown on either side or serve.
