Patli Khadi Daal

This Patli Khadi Daal is an amazingly spiced water recipe with floating coriander leaves and all daal at the bottom. This spiced water has all the nutrients of lentils, which he can easily have with roti.

    Ingredients to make Patli Khadi Daal:

    ½ cup dhuli urad daal, 2 tbsp chana daal, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 tbsp ghee, 1 onion chopped, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tomato chopped, coriander leaves, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp coriander powder, water.

    Steps to make Patli Khadi Daal:

    1. Wash and soak the lentils separately for about half an hour.

    2. Put pressure cooker on medium flame. Add 2 tbsp ghee, and cumin seeds. Allow them to crackle.

    3. Add gonger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. Now add onion and fry till golden brown.

    4. Now add tomatoes, turmeric, coriander powder, salt and cook for 3-4 minutes.

    5. Add the soaked dals along wth water they were soaked in. Pressure cook the daal for 3-4 whistles.Open the lid only after the steam has escaped on its own.

    6. Add chopped coriander leaves and more water to make it runny. Cook open for another 2-3 minutes on low flame. Stir occasionaly.

    Patli Khadi Daal is ready to pour upon on broken smaller bites of roti. You can add lemon juice in the daal too.
