Patta Gobi Matar is a delicious side dish made with cabbage and green peas. It is a good accompaniment for rice and rotis, loaded with proteins.

1 medium cabbage (finely chopped), ½ cup green peas, 2 to 3 green chili (slit), 1 to 1½ tablespoons mustard oil, ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 to 2 bay leaf, 2 to 3 green cardamom, salt to taste, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon ginger grated 1 teaspoon ghee, 1 teaspoon roasted masala powder
1. Wash and drain the vegetables.
2. Heat oil in a kadai, add bay leaf, and cumin seeds. Fry till they crackle.
3. Add green chiles and fry for a minute.
4. Add the vegetables, stir, and cover for a minute.
5. Add salt and turmeric powder. Cook covered for three minutes on high heat till the cabbage releases water.
6. Lower the heat. Keep stirring in between. Keep it covered.
7. Add ginger and cook on high heat till the water evaporates.
8. Add sugar and ghee. Mix well.
9. Sprinkle some roasted masala powder.
Serve hot with rotis or rice.
