Pear and Mango Chutney is a popular chutney from the mountaineous region, which is sweet and a little tangy in flavour. It is easy to make and can be eaten with any snack item as side-dish.

2 raw mangoes, 1 pear, 1 cup sugar, salt to taste, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1 tbsp marshmelon seeds, 1 tbsp raisins, 4-5 almonds, 4-5 cashews
1. Wash, peel and mash mangoes and pear.
2. Heat heavy bottomed pan, add half of sugar and cook on low flame until sugar leaves its moisture.
3. Add enough water and boil the mixture over medium flame. Add remaining sugar and cook till completely dissolve in water.
4. Once it starts boiling, add mashed mangoes and pear. Add raisins, marshmelon seeds, cashews, and chopped almonds and mix well.
5. Sprinkle red chili powder and salt. Stir in between and cook till it attains a jam consistency. Now add garam masala powder and mix well and remove from heat.
Let it cool completely and store in a jar.
