Banana is a very common fruit grown throughout South India and raw banana is widely used as a vegetable in most of the homes almost everyday. This dish is mainly a part of Onam and Pongal celebrations.

Ingredients to make Plaintain Errisery:
3 raw bananas, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp urad dal, 3 whole dry Kashmiri red chili, 10 curry leaves, 1/4 cup grated coconut, salt to taste, oil for cooking
Steps to make Plaintain Errisery:
1. Wash and cut each banana into half and put into the pressure cooker. Pressure cook upto 2-3 whistles.
2. Let the steam escape before opening the lid of the pressure cooker.
3. Peel and cut the bananas into cubes and keep them aside.
4. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it.
5. When the seeds crackle then add urad dal, red chilli and curry leaves.
6. Then add banana cubes and mix them well. Saute on medium flame for a minute.
7. Add grated coconut and give it a good mix. Let it cook on low flame for few minutes.
Serve hot with roti or parantha.
