However ordinary potatoes may seem, they are hard to ignore as they are rich in nutrients essential for your growth. Potatoes are a rich source of Vitamin B6, potassium, copper, Vitamin C, manganese, phosphorus, niacin, dietary fibre, pantothenic acid and phytonutrients, which have antioxidant properties. These adais are delicious and highly nutritious.

    Ingredients: 2 cups rice, 1 cup chana dal, 1 ½ moong dal, ½ cup urad dal, 2 dry red chillies, 2 green chillies, 9-10 black peppercorns, black pepper powder, salt, a pinch of hing, a handful of curry leaves, oil, 2 potatoes thinly sliced. 

    Steps

     1. Soak the lentils and rice for about 5 hours. Later, put the dals and rice along with the water, add dry red chillies, green chillies, pepper corns, salt and curry leaves into a mixer jar and blend into a smooth paste. 

     2. Heat oil on a tawa and place the thinly sliced potatoes on it. 

     3. Pour the batter around the potatoes and drizzle some oil on the sides and on the top. 

     4. Sprinkle some black pepper on top and flip. Cook both sides. 

    Serve hot with coconut chutney. Surprise everyone by trying out this recipe today!
