This is an ideal accomplice for appam, cooked rice, and roti and it has a subtle taste of coconut milk and green chiles. Try this at home when you want a break from your regular dal and sabzi for your child.
Contents
2 cups potato cubes, ½ cup tomato cubes, 2 slit green chiles, 8 curry leaves, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste, ½ cup grated coconut, 1 tsp coconut oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, 3 whole dry red Kashmiri chiles
1. Take a pan and add potatoes, tomatoes, green chilli, curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt and 1 cup water.
2. Mix them well and cook on medium flame for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Once they are cooked, mash lightly with spoon. Now add coconut milk to it, 1/4 cup water and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.
4. For tempering, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, red chilies and curry leaves.
Pour it on potato stew and serve hot with roti or rice.
