High in protein, this delicacy is prepared from soyabean, kidney beans, gahat, and lentils. It is best served with steaming hot rice.

    Ingredients to make Rus:

    1/4 cup black soyabeans, 1/4 cup rajma, 1/4 cup gahat,1/4 cup chana dal, 1/4 cup urad dal, 2 tbsp rice, 1 tsp ginger, 1 tsp garlic, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 4-5 cloves, 1 tsp black pepper, coriander leaves for garnishing

    Steps to make Rus:

    1. Wash, soak and then grind the rice into a fine paste.

    2. Soak dals overnight and boil in enough water, till it tenders.

    3. Grind ginger, cumin seeds, cloves, black pepper, garlic and make a fine paste.

    4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the spices paste. Add boiled lentils and cook it for 10-15 minutes.

    5. Add rice paste in between to thicken the stock.

    Once done, remove from heat. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
