Sajana Saga Bhaja

Drumstick leaves are abundant source of carotene, vitamin C and calcium while moong dal is rich in protein. You can prepare Sajana Saga Bhaja, fried drumstick leaves as side dish for lunch.

    Ingredients to make Sajana Saga Bhaja:

    ½ cup drumstick leaves, 5 tsp moong dal, 5 tsp shredded coconut, 10-12 garlic cloves, ½ cup milk, ½ tsp sugar, 3-4 tsp oil, 1 tsp urad dal, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1-2 dry chilies, salt as per taste

    Steps to make Sajana Saga Bhaja:

    1. Remove the drumstick leaves and wash them well.

    2. In a pan, fry moong dal for 3-5 minutes.

    3. In a vessel, put milk, water and sugar. Once it starts boiling, add the fried moong dal and cook well.

    4. In a plate, put the drumstick leaves and salt.

    5. In a pan, add oil. Add the garlic cloves and saute for 2-3 minutes.

    6. Add the moong dal, dry chilies and mustard seeds. As the mustard seeds splutter, put the drumstick leaves and shredded coconut.

    7. Cook for about 3-5 minutes till the drumstick leaves are dry. Stir in between.

    Delicious Sajana Saga Bhaja is ready.
