Racking your brains for a new recipe? Whip up a batch of these tasty Shakkar Paare, rich in carbohydrates and protein.

1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 2 tbsp ghee, 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, a pinch of salt, oil for deep-frying
1. Cook the milk, sugar and ghee in a deep non-stick pan on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes till the sugar dissolves, while stirring occasionally. Keep aside to cool.
2. Take the flour and salt together in a deep bowl. Add the milk-sugar mixture and knead into a firm dough
3. Roll out the dough and cut it into diamond shaped pieces.
4. Deep fry and serve.
