Stuffed Potato Naan

A tasty and healthy change from everyday roti is here in the form of stuffed potato naan. You can eat it with any pickle, dahi or chutney. The choice is ample and it is such a delicacy that your kid will never say no to it at any given time.

    Ingredients to make Stuffed Potato Naan:

    For the Dough:

    2 cups of maida, 1 tsp dry active yeast, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, a pinch of baking soda, 2 tbs oil, 2 tbs yogurt and 3/4 cup lukewarm water

    For the Filling:

    2 medium boiled potatoes, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp amchoor powder, 1 chopped green chilli, 2 tbs chopped coriander leaves, ½ tsp garam masala

    Extra Ingredients:

    2 tbsp oil, 2 tsp butter, 1/4 cup maida for dusting the naan dough

    Steps to make Stuffed Potato Naan:

    For the Dough:

    1. Take the yeast and dissolve it in 2 tbs of lukewarm water and let it rest for 10 minutes. The water should be frothy after 10 minutes.

    2. Add sugar, baking soda, to the flour and mix them well in a large bowl.

    3. Also, add oil and yogurt to this mixture and then add the yeast mixture to it to form a firm dough.

    4. Knead it till it turns smooth and soft. Cover it with a muslin cloth and keep it in a warm place after 3-4 hours. The dough will become double its size.

    For the Filling:

    1. Take 2 boiled potatoes and mash them well.

    2. Add green chiles, cumin seeds, amchoor powder, garam masala, salt and coriander leaves to this mixture.

    3. Mix it well and keep aside.

    For making the Naan:

    1. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees for about 30 minutes.

    2. Knead the dough again for 2 minutes and divide it into 6 equal parts with potato mixture also divided into equal parts.

    3. The filling should be smaller than the dough size so that it can be placed inside the naan without any discomfort.

    4. Roll the dough into a thin circle and place the potato filling in the center. Pull the edges of the naan to wrap up the potato filling.

    5. Make 6 balls out of the dough and let them rest for 3-4 minutes in a plate.

    6. Now place the naans into oven and keep flipping them in between.

    7. It should turn golden brown in color and it will take 2-3 minutes to bake.

    Take the naan out of the oven and brush it with little butter.
