A delicious and finger licking sweet fried dumpling from Odisha is perfect for your child's evening. These dumplings are prepared from suji and stuffed with coconut, hence serves iron and calcium to your child.

1 cup suji, ½ cup shredded coconut, ½ cup sugar, 1 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tbsp ghee, salt as per taste, oil for deep frying
1. Put the sugar and coconut in a deep frying pan and cook them on medium flame while stirring occassionally. When half done add cardamom powder and cook properly. Remove from flame and keep aside.
2. Take water, double the amount of suji, in a pan add ghee, sugar and salt as per taste and cook till the sugar dissolves
3. Slowly add suji in the pan while stirring continuously to avoid forming lumps. Keep stirring till the mixture becomes a lumpy mass.
4. Remove from flame and keep aside to cool down.
5. Add a spoon of ghee to prepared suji mixture to knead a smooth dough.
6. Make small balls out of this dough and stuff them with coconut mixture and flatten them with your palm
7. Heat oil in a skillet and fry all the pithas.
8. You can skip frying and make a healthier version by steaming all the pithas.
Serve hot.
