Swandhro Jo Maththo

This is a Sindhi dish that is made from tender drumsticks in the gravy of beaten yogurt. Maththo in Sindhi refers to buttermilk and it also means flowy consistency raita. This contains lot of probiotics and fiber that are good for your digestion.

    Ingredients to make Swandhro Jo Maththo:

    1½ cups of yogurt, 1/4 cup of drumstick, 1/4 tsp of chopped ginger, 1 finely chopped green chilly, 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, 1/4 tsp black pepper powder, ½ tsp chaat masala powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, a pinch of sugar, and salt as per taste

    Steps to make Swandhro Jo Maththo:

    1. First, pressure cooker the drumsticks into salted water for 5 minutes.

    2. Drain and allow it to cool down. Now extract the pulp of drumstick and keep it aside.

    3. Beat the yogurt and add some water to make a smooth consistency. Add salt and sugar as per your taste to this mixture.

    4. Add mashed drumstick extract, chopped ginger, chilies and coriander leaves.

    5. Refrigerate it for half an hour.

    6. Add cumin powder, pepper powder, chaat masala and red chilli powder.

    Mix and serve it chilled.
