Yummy Carrot Payasam can be made for your baby using carrots, sago, milk and jaggery. Carrots are rich in vitamin A, sago and jaggery have adequate carbohydrates and milk is rich in calcium. All in all, this payasam is wholesome and awesome in taste.You can flavour this payasam with dry fruit powder made from cashews, pistas and almonds.

    Ingredients to make Carrot Payasam:

    2-3 carrots, 1.5 cup milk, 2tbsp sago, ½ cup jaggery, 1 tsp ghee, 2-3 cashews, 2-3 pista, 2-3 almonds,1/4 cup water

    Steps to make Carrot Payasam:

    1. In a pan, add ½ tsp ghee. Add the cashew, pista and almonds. Saute for 2 mins and grind to a fine powder.

    2. Grind the carrots. Add the carrot pulp to 1 cup milk and give a good mix.

    3. Wash the sago. In a vessel, cook the sago in water and half cup milk till they turn soft and translucent. Add the carrot milk mixture and cook on medium flame till bubbles start to appear. Add the powdered jaggery and give good mix. Switch off the flame in 1-2 mins. Don’t overcook once carrot is added.

    4. You can add more milk to adjust the consistency.

    Tasty Carrot Payasam is ready. Garnish with dry fruit powder. Enjoy feeding this delicious payasam to your baby.
