Chikoo ka Halwa

Chikoo is a superb baby friendly fruit rich in vitamin A,B,C, and E, and minerals like iron and potassium. Using chikoo, you can prepare delicious Chikoo ka Halwa. Mawa and ghee are also used in this recipe, which are a good source of fats.Garnish this halwa with pistachio and almond slivers and the halwa looks and tastes yum.

    Ingredients to make Chikoo ka Halwa:

    10 chikoos, 1 cup mawa, 2 tbsp ghee, ¾ cup sugar, pistachio slivers, almonds slivers, 1-2 cardamom pods

    Steps to make Chikoo ka Halwa:

    1. Wash, peel, deseed and chop the chikoos.

    2. Blend the chikoo pieces to a fine puree.

    3. In a deep pan, add 1 tbsp ghee and saute the mawa till it turns light golden. Remove the mawa and keep aside.

    4. In the same pan, add the remaining ghee and chikoo puree. Add sugar, cardamom pods and keep stirring till the sugar is well absorbed. Add the mawa and cook till the mixture thickens. Keep stirring.

    5. Switch off the flame and transfer the chikoo halwa onto a plate.

    6. Garnish with pistachio and almond slivers.
