The name itself will make your child salivate. It is simple but yummy. It is a dessert recipe and it is not a surprise if it becomes your child’s favourite. Jaggery contains natural phyto-chemicals.

1 cup grated jaggery (gur),1 cup grained rice (basmati), 1½ tbsp. ghee, 1½ tbsp. oil, ½ tsp. cardamom powder, water as required
1. Wash the rice and soak for 30 minutes. Bring water to a boil in thick bottomed pan, add drained rice and bring to boil and lower heat and simmer until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed completely.
2. Add jaggery, cardamom powder, oil and ghee and stir well. Simmer and cook for 10 minutes stirring in between to avoid charring.Gur Chawal is ready.
Serve them in a bowl to your child to relish the taste.
