Ingredients to make Knol Khol Sambhar:
Knol khol-1 small, toor dal- ½ cup, tomato- 1 small, onion-1 small, sambar powder-1 spoon, salt and red chilli powder- to taste
Steps to make Knol Khol Sambhar:
1. Wash, peel, and chop the knol khols, onions and tomatoes.
2. Boil knol khol in a pan of water until tender and drain well.
3. Add 2 cups of water to toor dal and pressure cook until 3 whistles.
4. Heat water in colander and add chopped tomato and onion.
5. Add red chilli powder and sambar powder, salt and bring to a boil.
6. Add the boiled knol khol and dal.
7. Stir well and simmer.
Remove from flame and serve hot with rice, idli, or hot dosas!
