Pairing the rice with mixed lentils and grated coconut can bring a change in regular khichdi and will be benefitted by its nutritional contents. The proteins and carbs of lentils and rice will help you grow effectively.

½ cup rice, ½ cup mixed daal - urad daal, moong daal, tur daal, chana daal, ghee, 1 chopped onion, grated coconut, salt as per taste
1. Mix rice, urad dal, chana dal, moong dal, tur dal in a bowl and wash thoroughly.
2. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Meanwhile heat presser cooker and add ghee.
4. Now add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle. Add grated coconut and chopped onions.
5. Saute for few seconds. Mix well and add 4 cups of water. Add salt.
6. Mix well and bring it to boil.
7. Now add soaked rice and dal.
8. Cover with lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
Remove and serve hot with curd or chutney. Top up with grated coconut and ghee before serving.
