Multigrain Crispy Pancake

Multigrain Crispy Pancake is easy to prepare instantly without fermentation. This multigrain pancake is very good for your child as these provide a good amount of proteins and minerals essential for her growth. These multi dals are good source of protein, essential amino acids, potassium, iron vitamins and fiber.

    Ingredients to make Multigrain Crispy Pancake:

    ¼ cup urad dal, ¼ cup toor dal, ¼ cup channa dal, ¼ cup masoor dal (lentil), ¼ cup moong dal, required water, 2 tbsp. rice flour, 2 tbsp. rava, 1 small red chilli, 1 tbsp. grated coconut, 1 onion finely chopped, 1 tsp. mustard seeds, 1 tsp. cumin seeds, 5-6 curry leaves, oil, salt to taste, pinch of turmeric and asafoetida powder.

    Steps to make Multigrain Crispy Pancake:

    Preparation of batter:

    1. Wash and soak the lentils overnight or for 4 hours.

    2. Drain the water completely and add them to a blender jar with red chilli .

    3. Blend them to smooth batter by adding little water.

    4. Mix the rice flour and the rava to the batter.

    5. For crisp pancakes, add less water and for soft pancakes add more water while blending.

    6. Add grated coconut, salt, turmeric and mix the batter well.

    Making Multigrain Crispy Pancake:

    1. Heat a pan, add oil, when the oil is hot add mustard seeds, when it begins to splutter, add asafoetida powder, cumin seeds, curry leaves and onions and sauté for some time.

    2. Add them to the batter and mix it well.

    3. Heat a tawa and grease it well with oil.

    4. Pour a ladle of the batter in the center and spread it quickly to a thin pancake.

    5. Drizzle some oil around the edges and in the center of the pancake.

    6. When the pancake is cooked flip it and cook the other side.

    7. Remove the crisp pancake to the plate.

    Serve it hot to your child with his favourite chutney. It is advisable to enjoy it from the pan to plate.
