Mushroom and Onion Pot Pies are a perfect weekend dinner treat. This does not only taste good but is also very high on food-value. Mushroom includes vitamins D and selenium in high amounts.

Ingredients: 1 baguette, 2 tbsp butter, 1 large sweet onion (sliced), a handful of different variety of mushrooms, 1 garlic clove finely chopped, 1/2 cup chicken-flavoured broth, 1/2 cup water, 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, 1/3 tsp pepper, 1/2 cup shredded cheese
Steps:
1. Heat oven to 400°F. Cut the baguette into 4 (1-inch-thick) slices and 8 (1/4-inch-thick) slices. Place it on the cookie sheet. Bake until toasted, keep it aside.
2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Put the onions in and cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until it turns golden brown.
3. Meanwhile, slice the different variety of mushrooms. Add mushrooms and garlic to the skillet. Cook it for another 3 minutes stirring constantly. Add the broth in it. Heat till it starts to boil and then reduce the heat. Keep it on simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it’s slightly thickened.

5. Heat oven to 350°F. Take a small bowl, mix water and flour until it becomes smooth.
6. Add the mushroom mixture and also some pepper. Stir it for 1 minute.
7. In each of custard cups, place 1 (1-inch-thick) toasted baguette slice. Divide the mushroom mixture among cups. Top each with 2 (1/4-inch-thick) toasted baguette slices. Evenly sprinkle the cheese over it. Bake for 5 minutes till the cheese is melted.
And your treat is ready!
