Oats is a versatile ingredient that goes well with any combination. It is rich in manganese and is a good source of thiamine, magnesium and phosphorous. If your kid is a fussy eater, then sweet version of porridge can be boring. Treat him with spice flavoured oats.

½ cup cooking oats, 1 cup water, ½ cup curd, 2 tbsp. grated carrot, pinch of turmeric, ¼ tsp. roasted cumin powder, pinch of freshly crushed black pepper powder, salt to taste.
1. Take oats in a saucepan and add water and turmeric to it and cook the mixture on a medium flame for about 3 minutes.
2. Add the grated carrot, and cook for another 2 minutes or until the oats and carrot are cooked.
3. Season the mixture with roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder and salt.
4. Let the mixture cool completely and then add curd and mix well.
Prepare and feed your kid for today’s lunch. You will be amazed to see him go for a second serving.
