Suva M,asoor Dal is an excellent side dish that you can try for rotis or rice. This dish made with dill leaves, doesn’t consume much oil so you can consume it guilt free! It is loaded with proteins.

2 tbsp chopped dill leaves, ½ cup masoor dal (split red lentil), 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi), ½ tsp cumin seeds (jeera), 2 to 3 curry leaves (kadi patta), 2 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun), ½ tsp chopped green chiles, 1/4 cup finely chopped onions, salt to taste
1. Clean, wash and soak the masoor dal for about 15 minutes. Drain well and keep aside.
2. Combine the masoor dal, turmeric powder and 1 cup of water in a pressure cooker, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
3. Allow to cool before opening the lid. Remove, whisk the dal well and keep aside.
4. In a pan, dry roast cumin seeds, garlic, green chiles, and onion.
5. Add cooked dal, dill leaves, salt, and water.
6. Cook well for three minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot.
