Tomato Khatta Mitha

Tomato Khatta Mittha is a very healthy tangy dish for your kid. It's a chutney that can be served as an accomplice to any meal. It's rich in carbohydrates and proteins.

    Ingredients to make Tomato Khatta Mitha:

    500 gm tomato, 75 gm chini, 100 gm dates, 2 tbsp grated coconut, ½ inch ginger, 1 tsp turmeric, 4 kancha lanka (green chili), 2 pcs bay leaf, 1 tsp jeera, 1 tsp panchaphutan, 2 tbsp oil, 25 gm dhania patta, salt

    Steps to make Tomato Khatta Mitha:

    1. Wash and cut the tomatoes into small pieces.

    2. Slit the green chiles and crush the ginger. Keep aside.

    3. Heat oil in a pan, when hot, add panchaphutan and bay leaf.

    4. When splutter add the silted green chillies and crushed ginger, fry till golden brown.

    5. Now add tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Stir properly and cover the pan with a lid for some time. Cook for 2mins. 6. Add dates and coconut grated. Add water and cook for 2 minutes.

    7. In a separate pan, fry cumin seeds, keep aside. When tomatoes are cooked, add the cumin seeds and sugar.

    Cook it for 2 3 minutes, remove from flame and garnish with dhania patta before serving to your kiddo.
