Ven pongal is a quick and easy recipe to make is simply amazing to eat. It is light, delcious, and protein packed. Serve this with chutney or sambhar to your child for breakfast or lunch.

1 cup rice, ½ cup yellow moong dal, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp mustard seeds, a string of curry leaves, 1 chopped onion, salt, water, ghee
1. Pour 2 tbsp ghee in apressure cooker. Add washed rice and moong dal.
2. Fry for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and water.
3. Pressure cook it for 2-3 whistles.
4. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan; add mustard seeds, curry leaves, chopped onion, red chilli powder. Fry for a minute.
5. Pour this tadka over the rice and dal dish.
Serve hot with chutney and sambhar.
