Planning to introduce chicken to your champ? Here is one such recipe! To begin with, give it in the form of puree along with some roots. Chicken is a good source of protein, vitamin B6 and phosphorus, niacin, while carrots are rich in beta-carotene that converts into vitamin A, which helps in improving vision and promotes healthy skin.

1 chicken breast or thigh (boneless), 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 cup water, ½ tsp mixed herbs, 1 tbsp oil
1. Clean the chicken and cut into one centimetre cubes.
2. Peel the skin of the carrot and parsnip and chop into one centimetre cubes.
3. Heat oil in a saucepan, add the chicken and cook until it starts to colour.
4. Add the vegetables and cook stirring for one minute.
5. Add water, turmeric and the herbs and cook for 15 minutes or until the chicken is tender.
6. When it is cool, puree it smooth in a food processor.
