Team AckoFeb 8, 2024
Your little one is working on her language skills. Pronouns are challenging for her and she needs more time to practice them. Initially, she will use pronouns like ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘him’, ‘her’, ‘it’ randomly, irrespective of the gender. She may even try to omit them entirely.

What you need to know
At this stage, your little one will get better at using pronouns in her day to day communication. It’s important to tell her the difference between a boy and girl. You can show her pictures from books or talk about family members, friends, relatives. You can use 'he' or 'she' in short phrases like “He plays” or “She sings” by showing pictures of a boy or girl doing the action. You can also use pronouns while reading stories to her. If she uses pronouns incorrectly, ask her, “Is it a boy or a girl?" Then tell her, it’s a boy so we say, “He swings” or "He plays".
