Citizens who find incorrect information in their voter ID card can change them online by following the simple steps mentioned below.
Log on to the official website, to provide services to voters, National Voters Services Portal.
Navigate the section “Correction Entries in Electoral Roll” and click on it.
Click on Form 8 on this page.
A new page opens up, where you can request corrections to your voter Card.
Enter details in the form such as the State and Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency in which you belong. Add details of your name, the part number of the electoral roll, serial number, gender, and age. Provide details of your family, including the name of your father/mother/husband name.
Enter your address.
Provide the details of your present voter ID card such as card number, date of issuance, where it was issued, and the constituency it was issued for.
After entering the details, upload the supportive documents that include a recent passport-size photograph, a valid ID, and address proof.
Now, choose the fields that have to be changed or corrected.
Now enter the place from where you are making a request and mention the date on which the request is made.
Provide your contact information such as mobile number and email ID.
Verify the information provided by you and submit the modified application form.
The Election Commission of India will verify the information and incorporate the relevant changes if all information provided is correct.
