Dadra and Nagar Haveli district comprises two geographical entities, Nagar Haveli and Dadra. The district celebrates some unique festivals and fairs such as Barash, Raksha Bandhan, Holi, Akha Teej, etc. The general public gets a day off from office/school on these occasions to indulge in celebrations and participate in cultural activities.
Barash is a tribal festival held in September. It is celebrated by the locals of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and it can be compared to the Diwali festival celebrated across the country.
