Rajasthan: An Overview

Rajasthan has a rich history, vibrant culture and colourful festivals. The amalgamation of beautiful architecture and breathtaking geographical locations make this state a perfect holiday destination. Some of the prominent festivals of this state include Desert Festival, Bikaner Camel Festival, Nagaur Fair, Pushkar Fair, Elephant Festival, etc.

  • The Desert Festival is held in Jaisalmer, and it spans three days. Some of the main attractions of this festival are camel rides and folk dances. If you wish to explore the culture and food, this is a good place to be.

  • Bikaner Camel Festival, as the name suggests, involves camel performances. You can witness camel dancing and a fantastic display of fireworks. This festival lasts for two days.

  • Nagaur Fair is a four-day festival, or you can also call it a cattle fair. It is known for its vibrant market and cattle trading. Men wear traditional attire and flaunt their long moustaches. You can also witness camel races during this festival.

  • Pushkar Fair is held for 13 days. Some of its main attractions include camel safari and hot air balloon ride. Apart from that, you can also witness cultural music, dance performances, and fireworks at the end of the festival.
