Bihar is the second largest state in India, lying on the country's eastern side, bordered by Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand.
Transport connectivity to and fro from Bihar as well as within the state is made highly efficient through its three operational airports, a rail network of 3794 km and its bus transit managed by the Bihar State Road Transportation Corporation. Additionally, the state highways have been maintained for the convenience of those travelling in and out of the state.
Under the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988 and the Bihar Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Act of 2019, all personal and commercial vehicles in Bihar must pay a road tax to drive their vehicles. The amount of the Bihar road tax varies for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles plying in the state.
