Odisha is among the fastest-growing states in India. To drive Odisha’s infrastructural and economic development, the government collects road tax from motor vehicle owners. The government uses the money received from the Odisha RTO road tax to build rural and urban roads, flyovers, railway overbridges, ports, and the like. Hence, Odisha Parivahan road tax payment is mandatory for all motor vehicles operating within the state's geographical boundaries.
The Motor Vehicles Act 1988, the Odisha Motor Vehicles Taxation Act 1975, and the Odisha Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Act 2017 contain rules related to road tax in Odisha for two-wheelers, cars, commercial vehicles, and other state vehicles. The following sections discuss the various provisions of Odisha Parivahan road tax and elaborate on how to pay road tax online in Odisha, the RTO charges, and the best way to determine your tax liabilities with the Odisha road tax calculator.
