Selling a Two-Wheeler: When you decide to sell your two-wheeler to another individual, you must transfer the ownership to the buyer. It ensures that the new owner becomes legally responsible for the vehicle and its associated obligations.

Buying an Used Two-Wheeler: If you purchase a pre-owned two-wheeler from someone, it is crucial to initiate the ownership transfer process. It allows you to establish legal ownership and ensure that the vehicle is registered under your name.

Inheriting or Receiving a Two-Wheeler as a Gift: In cases where you inherit a two-wheeler from a family member or receive it as a gift, you need to transfer the ownership to your name. This process ensures that you become the legal owner and can enjoy all the benefits and responsibilities associated with the vehicle.

Transferring Ownership Within Family: When transferring a two-wheeler between family members, such as from a parent to a child or between siblings, it is essential to complete the ownership transfer. It ensures the legal transfer of ownership and helps maintain accurate records.

Original Registration Certificate (RC): This document serves as proof of ownership and is required to transfer the bike to the new owner. Ensure that the RC is in the seller's name and free from any encumbrances or legal disputes.

Valid Insurance Certificate: The bike must have an active insurance policy at the time of transfer. Verify the validity of the insurance and ensure it covers the desired duration.

Sale Agreement: Prepare a legally binding sale agreement that outlines the terms and conditions of the sale, including the agreed-upon price, date of transfer, and any additional clauses deemed necessary.

Valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate: In many jurisdictions, a PUC certificate is mandatory to ensure the bike meets the prescribed emission standards.

Identity and Address Proof: Both the buyer and seller should possess valid identification documents, such as a driving licence, Aadhaar card, or passport, along with proof of address, such as a utility bill or rental agreement.

Form 28: No Objection Certificate.

Form 29: Notice of bike ownership transfer to the RTO.

Form 30: Report of bike ownership transfer.

A death certificate of the vehicle owner to establish the proof of demise.

The original RC document.

A Certificate of Succession provided by a solicitor or any other authorised entity capable of issuing such documentation.

In the case of a two-wheeler that was financed through a loan, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the loan provider.

Completely filled out Forms 30 and 31.

A self-attested copy of the vehicle insurance certificate.

Address proof of the new owner.

An attested copy of the PAN card or Forms 60 and 61, if applicable.

Step 1: Visit the Parivahan Sewa website.

Step 2: Select 'Vehicle-Related Services' from the 'Online Services’ tab.

Step 3: Enter your vehicle registration number and click on the 'Proceed' button.

Step 4: Choose 'Miscellaneous' (TO/CoA/HPA/HPS/HPT/DupRC).

Step 5: Provide your mobile number and click on the 'Generate OTP' button.

Step 6: Enter the OTP and then select 'See Details.'

Step 7: Under the 'Application Selection' section, choose 'Transfer of Ownership.'

Step 8: Fill in the necessary information for 'Transfer of Ownership Details,' including the new owner's details, insurance details, permanent address, and current address.

Step 9: Proceed to the 'Payment' section and enter the required fee. After completing the online payment for the car ownership transfer, two payment receipts, along with Forms 29 and 30, will be generated.

Step 10: All parties involved must sign the hard copies of these documents.

Step 11: Additionally, submit the original registration certificate, a copy of the insurance policy, PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate, and other required papers to the new RTO (Regional Transport Office), either in person or via mail.

Book an Appointment: Many RTOs now require prior appointments, so it's advisable to book a slot online or through the designated portal to avoid unnecessary delays.

Complete the Application Form: Obtain the bike ownership transfer application form from the RTO or download it from their official website. Fill out the form accurately, providing all the required details.

Submit the Documents: Present the completed application form along with the supporting documents to the RTO officer. Ensure that you have both the original and photocopies of the required documents.

Pay the Fees: Pay the applicable fees for ownership transfer, which may include service charges, road tax, and other administrative costs. The fee structure may vary based on factors such as the bike's engine capacity, age, and location.

Verification and Inspection: The RTO officer will verify the submitted documents and conduct a physical inspection of the bike. Ensure that the vehicle is in good condition and complies with the prescribed safety standards.

Obtain the No Objection Certificate (NOC): If you're transferring the bike to another state, you may need to obtain a NOC from the local RTO. This certificate confirms that there are no pending legal or financial obligations associated with the bike.

Transfer of Ownership: Once the verification process is complete, the RTO will issue a new Registration Certificate (RC) in the buyer's name. Ensure that all the details on the new RC are accurate before leaving the RTO premises.
