The outstation emergency cover for bike insurance is an add-on cover, which provides financial assistance in case of a breakdown or an accident outside the 100 km radius of the policyholder’s place of residence. ACKO will pay the amount specified in the policy attached to the add-on cover.

In case of an accident or a breakdown of your bike outside the 100 km radius of your place of residence, and the repair of the bike takes more than 12 hours, ACKO will pay the amount stated as per the policy attached to the Outstation Emergency Cover add-on.
For Example: If your bike is insured in the city of Bengaluru, and it breaks down in Mysore while on a bike ride, which is about 120 km from Bengaluru, and the repair takes more than 12 hours, ACKO will pay the amount specified in the policy attached to the add-on cover as emergency financial support.
The add-on cover can be purchased along with the comprehensive bike insurance policy while buying a new insurance policy or while renewing the existing plan. The following are the steps to buy add-on cover:
Step 1: Visit our website ACKO.com or mobile app to log in to your account if you are an existing customer.
Step 2: If you are buying ACKO bike insurance for the first time, then visit our website or our mobile app and enter a few details of your bike to buy the bike insurance policy.
Step 3: You have the option to buy add-on covers. Choose the Outstation Emergency Cover.
Step 4: Pay the premium and receive the policy document instantly to your email account.

In case of a breakdown or an accident outside the 100 km of your place of residence and the repair takes more than 12 hours, you can raise a claim under this add-on cover. The process of raising a claim is as follows:
Step 1: Visit ACKO.com or the mobile app to log in to your account and raise a claim. Alternatively, you can also call us on our toll-free number 1800-266-2256 to file the claim.
Step 2: Once the claim is registering, ACKO will pay the amount specified in the policy attached to the add-on cover.
In the event of the insured bike being immobilized due to an accident or breakdown outside the specified geographical area, ACKO will pay the stated amount in the policy.
ACKO provides the services under the add-on cover subject to the conditions below:
The required time to repair the insured bike from the time of the breakdown/accident takes more than 12 hours.
The number of claims will be restricted to the number of admissible claims during the policy period.
The NCB will not be impacted in case you raise a claim under this add-on cover.
Adhere to the timeframe of filing the claim for this add-on.

Both the add-on covers differ. Under the Roadside Assistance cover, ACKO will provide emergency services such as repairing or replacing a flat tyre, jumpstart the battery, provide fuel support, emergency towing, etc. As for the Outstation Emergency cover, ACKO will provide financial assistance in case the repair of the insured bike takes more than 12 hours due to an accident or a breakdown occurred outside the 100 km radius of the policyholder’s place of residence.
Yes, you can buy the add-on cover through the process known as Policy Endorsement. You can make changes to the existing policy to include the Outstation Emergency accident cover on a pro-rata basis. Contact us to make the required endorsement to the existing policy.
No, the add-on cover is not mandatory. It is optional when you buy the comprehensive two-wheeler insurance plan and adds value to the standard comprehensive plan.
No, any claim raised against the add-on cover will not impact the NCB. However, claims raised against the Own Damage (OD) cover will affect the NCB of the bike insurance policy.
