KTM has launched the latest model of the 890 Duke in other countries. The 2022 model has a new paint scheme that includes a matte blue finish on the fuel tank and front fender, accentuated by orange and black highlights. The naked sports bike boasts advanced electronics such as anti-wheelie, engine braking, traction control, WP Apex adjustable front suspension, Brembo Stylema callipers, etc.

The current KTM 390 Duke has been a workhorse for the company and desperately requires an update in the form of a next-generation model. The bike has been spotted several times while it was being tested on the road, emphasising that the 2023 model is expected to be launched soon. The new model gets an aggressive design and borrows much of its styling from the 890 Duke.

The KTM 200 Duke has been one of the top-selling products in India for the company. The 2023 model has been spied on several occasions while it was being tested, making it clear that the bike’s launch is imminent. The bike gets a new chassis with an aluminium subframe (just like its elder Dukes), bionic wheels, a new aluminium swingarm and lighter discs that result in better performance of the bike.

The RC 200 is one of the most sought-after sports bikes in India. With the 2023 Duke 200 in the pipeline of launches, the Rc 200 is not far behind. Typical to the previous generation launches, the RC 200 shall be launched after the Duke 200. Both will share most of the components except the styling and the proportions. The design is expected to be sharper and more aggressive than before.

The KTM 390 Adventure has helped many Indians access premium adventure touring. It is loaded with electronics, and the potent engine is good enough for long-distance touring and off-roading. While its height might be a bone of contention, it is a capable and reliable adventure vehicle. The 2024 390 Adventure will feature a new chassis, swingarm, updated electronics, and spoked wheels. It will rival the likes of the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Hero Xpulse 400.

KTM wants to get into the 500c segment from which it has been shying away all these years. It is speculated that the company is working with Bajaj Auto to develop the 500c platform that is expected to power the 490 Duke, RC and Adventure. The styling cues are expected to be on the lines of the upcoming 390 adventure, albeit with a different chassis and swingarm.

Expected Price: Rs. 4 lakh onwards
With the 500cc platform being developed, KTM is also expected to use the engine for its famous Duke. The design is expected to be on the lines of the 2023 Duke 390, which looks aggressive and mean. However, the bike shall be affordable since it will be manufactured in India.

Along with the Adventure and the Duke, the company is looking to launch the RC 490 in 2023. The RC series has been a popular model in India, and the 490cc engine is expected to power it. Inspired by the 2023 RC 390, the design language is expected to be similar except for the higher bumper engine capacity.

KTM India has succeeded in the RC series. Both the RC 200 and the 390 are popular among bike enthusiasts. In keeping with the company’s trend of launching the RC version after the launch of the Duke, it is expected that the RC 890 shall follow through.

The adventure bike segment is witnessing unprecedented growth in India. It is expected to be more agile with changes in the riding ergonomics focusing more on the centre of gravity.
