Stay less than 30 days (Visa-on-Arrival): A visa-on-arrival is a tourism visa available to you at the airport in the arrival hall. You can still purchase it online, and it is valid for a minimum of 30 days. An extra fee can be paid to extend it for another 30 days. This visa only lets you enter Indonesia once, so it will expire as soon as you leave the country.

Stay 30-60 days (Visa-on-Arrival): This is where things can get tricky. This is pretty much the same as VOA above, but you can stay an extra 30 days for a total of 60 days maximum. This visa is also only good for tourism, and it expires when you leave.

Social-Cultural Visa: This visa is perfect for those seeking a longer stay—more than 60 days. It allows you to stay in Indonesia for up to 180 days (6 months), with the possibility of extending it twice (each time 60 days). It requires sponsorship from an Indonesian citizen or resident. Your travel agent can also act as one in this case if you don’t have any sponsorships. This visa can be applied onshore (inside of Indonesia) and off-shore (outside of Indonesia), and it does not let you work. This is also only good for tourism, and it expires when you leave.

*Remember, these visas are popular for tourism purposes, and they do not let you work there.
