    Ingredients to make Bulgur Wheat Upma:

    Onion - 1 chopped, Ginger - 1 inch piece, Beans - 4-5 chopped, Carrot – 1 chopped, Capsicum -1 chopped, Bulgur wheat - 1/2 cup, Salt to taste. For the seasoning: Oil - 1 tbsp, Mustard seeds - 1 tsp, Urad dal - 1 tsp, Hing - a pinch, Curry leaves - a sprig

    Steps to make Bulgur Wheat Upma:

    1. Wash and place bulgur in a bowl. Add salt and a cup of boiling water, mix well, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes till all the water is absorbed.

    2. Drain excess water if any. Fluff it with a fork and keep aside.

    3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add urad dal, hing and curry leaves.

    4. When dal turns golden brown, add finely chopped onion and ginger.

    5. When onion turns transparent, add the vegetables, salt and cook covered on medium heat, stirring occasionally.

    6. Once the vegetables are cooked, add the bulgur, mix well and cook covered for 3-4 minutes.
