Flavour Rice

Rice is a brilliant accomplice to curries and stews and great as a stand-alone meal too. It’s carb-rich (starchy) food provides your tiny tot with valuable nutrients, fibre, and the much needed energy.

    Ingredients to make Flavour Rice:

    1 cup Basmati Rice, salt to taste and splash of sesame oil, 2 cups of water

    Steps to make Flavour Rice:

    1. Wash the rice for 3-4 times and pour fresh water and soak for 30 minutes.

    2. Fill a medium saucepan with 2 cups of water, add a pinch of salt, oil and bring to a boil.

    3. Drain the water and add the rice, stir and wait until the water comes back to a full boil.

    4. When it does, turn the heat down as low as it can go and then cover.

    5. Cook for 10 minutes or till the all the water has been absorbed. Switch off the flame.

    6. Let the rice sit for 5 minutes and fluff with a fork. This makes the rice easier to mash for baby or make it easier for older babies to chew and swallow.

    Your white, soft, fluffy flavour rice is ready to be served. Hope you will cook it today and serve your tiny tot for lunch.
