Carrot Spinach Puree is a nutrient dense dish as it contains two superfoods. Spinach leaves are rich in iron, calcium, vitamins, and minerals. Carrot is rich in fiber and promotes a strong immune system. It is an excellent source of beta-carotene, which turns into Vitamin A in the body. Carrot Spinach Puree contains oxalate and nitrate so it should be introduced after 8 months.
Contents
1 medium-sized carrot, a handful spinach leaves, a pinch of cumin powder, a pinch of asafetida.
1. Wash and peel the carrot. Chop into cubes.
2. Wash the spinach leaves well and trim the stems and chop coarsely.
3. Steam the carrot and spinach together in a pressure pan. Switch off the gas after 2 whistles.
4. After the steam is completely released, drain the vegetables and mash or blend the cooked carrot and spinach.
5. Do not use the water used for steaming for blending or thin the puree as it may contain the nitrate that has leeched into it.
Add the cumin powder, asafetida and serve.
