Colorful Wheat Porridge

Want to give a new twist to your regular porridge? Here is one which is not only nutritious but also yummy. You will see your champ lip smacking after he finishes his porridge. Whole wheat is a good source of several vitamins and minerals including selenium, manganese, phosphorus, copper and folate.

Ingredients to make Colorful Wheat Porridge:

1 cup wheat flour, 1 tbsp Butter, 2 tbsp jaggery (sugar optional), 3 tbsp of finely chopped mixed fruits, ½ cup milk, ½ cup water.

Steps to make Colorful Wheat Porridge:

1. In a heavy bottom pan, add butter fry chopped Mixed Fruits, remove from the pan and grind it in a blender when it is cooled.

2. In the same pan, roast the wheat flour in low flame taking extreme care to keep stirring constantly, so that the wheat is roasted well without getting charred.

3. Transfer it in a bowl and add water and mix it well without lumps, and then add them to the pan and bring the wheat mixture to a boil and add milk, jaggery and cook until the porridge becomes thick. Remove from flame and cool it. Note: If baby is less than 12 months, add water instead of milk. If you have excess breastmilk, you can mix bm with the porridge just before feeding. Do not heat the breastmilk.

The porridge normally thicken, when it is cooled, then you can use some milk to dilute little.
