Urad Dal, which is rich in protein and wheat flour along with jaggery, which is abundant in vitamins and minerals, you can prepare a dense, sweet and nutritious Dal Halwa.

Ingredients to make Dal Halwa:
½ cup each urad and moong dal, ¼ cup wheat flour, 1 cup Jaggery, 1 tsp oil, 2 cups of water
Steps to make Dal Halwa:
1. Soak the udad and moong dal for 4 hours. Grind the dals to a coarse paste with less water.
2. Add the crushed jaggery in a pan along with little water. Once the jaggery gets melted, filter and keep the syrup aside. Boil water in a separate vessel.
3. In a pan, add 1 tsp oil. Saute the wheat flour for 2 minutes till the raw smell of flour goes off. Afterwards, add the dal paste and cook on medium flame for half an hour stirring continuously.
4. Pour the jaggery syrup to the dal paste and also boiling water slowly and carefully.Keep stirring for 2 minutes and adjust the consistency of the halwa to a semi liquid state. Switch off the flame.
Delicious, nutritious and yummy dal halwa is ready!
