If your child is into the habit of clean eating, then this energy bowl recipe is all you need to satiate his hunger. The heady mix of multigrain powder makes for a nourishing drink.

Ingredients to make Sathu Maavu Kanji Powder(Multi Grain Energy Mix):

½ cup finger millet-Ragi, ½ cup pearl millet-Kambu, ½ cup green gram, ½ cup red rice-sigapu arisi, ½ cup roasted gram-pottukadalai, ½ cup foxtail millet-thinai, ½ cup horse gram-Kollu, ½ cup peanuts (de skinned), 3 tbsp. barley, 7 almonds, 7 cashew nuts, 5-6 cardamom, 2 tbsp. dry ginger- sukku

Steps to make Sathu Maavu Kanji Powder (Multi Grain Energy Mix):

1. In a heavy bottomed pan, dry roast all the ingredients separately. Dry roast without getting it burnt.

2. Allow this to cool and grind this in a mill.

3. Sieve this multi grain energy mix and store it in an airtight container.

To make a glass of Multi Grain Energy Drink for your child:

1. Take 1 tsp. of multi grain energy mix and mix it in ½ cup of water without any lumps.

2. Cook this in a low flame till it becomes semi solid consistency.

3. Add milk to this and keep in a low flame. Add sugar/ jaggery and stir well. When it comes to boiling, switch off the flame. Care should be taken, as it can be burnt easily.

Multi grain energy drink is ready to relish. Serve this drink first thing in the morning to your child to keep his energy level high throughout the day.
