Sweet potatoes are a rich source of phosphorus, Vitamin B1, niacin, dietary fibre, potassium, Vitamin B6, pantothenic acid, copper, manganese, Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Lentils provide proteins, manganese, folate, dietary fibre, copper, phosphorus and iron. This mash combines the nutritional benefits of both and hence is a healthy dish for your little one. Lentils and sweet potatoes are great for babies as they help in digestion, boosts the immune system and promote bone health.

Sweet potato and toor dal can cause gas in your baby. This is curbed by the use of dry roasted cumin, which is good for the digestive system.
Ingredients: 1 medium sweet potato, 2 tbsp. toor dal, a pinch of turmeric powder, a cup of water, 1 tsp dry roasted cumin powder.
Steps:
1. Pressure cook all the ingredients with water till it is done.
2. Puree the cooked ingredients into a smooth mash.
