Thin Ragi Payasam

Ragi is rich in carbohydrates and has good amount of protein too. Along with Jaggery, which is a good source of carbohydrates, you can prepare a quick and easy dessert, thin ragi payasam.

    Ingredients to make Thin Ragi Payasam:

    ½ cup ragi, ¼ cup crushed jaggery, a pinch of cardamom powder, 1 tsp ghee

    Steps to make Thin Ragi Payasam:

    1. In a pan, add little water and jaggery. Switch on the flame and let the jaggery melt. Filter the jaggery syrup.

    2. Boil 1.5 cups of water side by side.

    3. In a pan, add the ghee. Once warm, add ragi and keep stirring on low flame till it starts to emit an aroma.

    4. Keep adding the boiled water carefully to the Ragi and continuously stir so that the mixture is lump free.

    5. Add the jaggery syrup and cardamom powder. Mix well.

    Thin Ragi Payasam is ready for you.
